Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

-To me women are the most unknown factors in the universe, Vieng had then continued, -that is what makes them so interesting to us. So it's like us men have an instinctively born scientific nature to study women. As I said before it takes a long time to understand women, if it is at all possible, so once you find the right woman to love then you will never get bored of trying to study her. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

I know, at the time it was an imperfect solution in an imperfect world. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Istvan Aranyosi

Evans-Pritchard's confession reveals the way the power advantage of the subject whose definition of a situation prevails in the larger social context (in this case the majority of the Azande) shapes the environment and behavioral constraints that impact the subject who, although does not define the situation the same way, has to behave according to the former subject's definition in order to obtain the needed resources (in this case Evans-Pritchard, who is interested in gaining knowledge of the social organization of the Azande). For Evans-Pritchard, while living among the Azande, the actual world is as if there were magical forces around, true oracles and evil witches, as his whole daily life is structured around those nonexistent entities. — Istvan Aranyosi

Pritchard Quotes By Luke Pritchard

It's just like an idea, like a chorus, and then we just jam on it - it happens in loads of different ways. The best songs I find always come from the subconscious, like when you don't think. Not to be pretentious about it, but usually songs just blurt out rather than thinking about it. I never write lyrics and then do a song, I find that really hard - that's like a real skill. — Luke Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Wallace Stegner

A western buckaroo, I share his scorn for people who go camping by the book, relying on the authority of some half-assed assistant scoutmaster whose total experience outdoors probably consists of two overnight hikes and a weekend in the Catskills. But we have just had that confrontation. The one who goes by Pritchard's book is Sid's wife, and I am wary. It is not my expedition. I am a guest here. — Wallace Stegner

Pritchard Quotes By Ambrose Evans-Pritchard

To the American people I bid a fond farewell. Guard your liberties. It is the trust of each generation to pass a free republic to the next. And if I know you right, you will rouse yourself from slumber to ensure exactly that. — Ambrose Evans-Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

It's all a popularity contest, which unfortunately often has more to do with good looks rather than actual talent. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

You see, unlearning is a very important process towards becoming enlightened, because in this life you will have learned wrong ways and those wrong ways that you have learned are barriers blocking you from becoming who you really are, therefore it is vital that they are unlearned. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

To become a writer a person must read constantly, the more varied the writers and their material then all the better. One must also have a lot of life experience, travel to exotic locations and live among the local people. Yet most importantly a writer needs the determination to keep at their writing regardless of what others might say or think about it — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Reading good literature is not so different then taking good drugs, do it enough and it will certainly alter your mind. The drugs can have positive yet often negative affects as well, however literature will always have positive affects. Certainly no one has ever over dosed from reading too much, as far as I know. The best literature should bend your reality until you can tie it in a knot.

Pritchard Quotes By Melissa Pritchard

All great literature has an uncreeded and luminous theology behind it ... Art [is] a form of active prayer. — Melissa Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Call it dating if you like, but I didn't want her to be under the impression that it was anything serious. Not at that point in any case, it was more to be an experiment in human social relationships, one which might or might not lead to sex and or marriage. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Honestly, if I can't clearly understand the workings of a young innocent girl, like Ami, then how can I ever possibly expect to understand any other women? That chiefly was what was on my mind at that moment. Seriously, why should things which should be simple, like relationships between two people, be so complicated? Still, it doesn't matter if we go a bit wrong, because every time we go wrong in any relationship, if we care, we will always go in search of the solutions. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By M.R. Pritchard

Hurry now, Meg, before the others wake up without their souls and then we'll be in a load of trouble. — M.R. Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

-I'm a girl, I'm his friend and I'm attractive too, so don't just ignore me like I was a pile of squid guts! She felt like saying back to them. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By R. John Pritchard

Did you find your shit? You've got to watch the mota Thurston, your fuckin' memory just goes out the window. — R. John Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

At this point I came across one of the vending machines that only Japan has. I have to admit that I love the whimsical items sold in such appliances, like all sorts of junk food, beer cans, whisky bottles and even underwear. This particular machine sold both whisky and underwear, which truly is a bizarre combination, or maybe not, considering all the underwear were female panties. It was therefore my theory that older men would come by and buy the whisky, and then when they were drunk and young women passed by, the men would then offer them panties as gifts for sexual favours. Ya, it all made perfect sense to me. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

But I will tell you in all honesty that there is no Deity or Messiah, no Jesus or Muhammad, no angel or mythical spirit who can save you. Not even Buddha can save you, even if he or any of the other spirits wished it with all of their might, for your only salvation, if there is any, lies within you and you alone. Each of us has the potential for good as well as evil; it is whatever circumstances we find ourselves in and what choices we make in life which really takes us down one or the other path. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

It just a fun game, until someone starts to win and then everyone else begins to cheat! — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

-The very absence of the freedom to criticise against your own or any other government is all the more a reason to loudly shout-out for democracy! If that is wrong, Drew boldly went on, -then I would rather be wrong then to be numbered among the majority of the so-called righteous people whose only mandate seems to be controlling people. If a government is against its people expressing themselves, then that government is obviously hiding something criminal from its people and the world, and it is therefore afraid of being exposed and losing whatever power it has. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

-I have to admit that ever since I started to rip-up the lawns of rich people I have felt a lot calmer! — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Ah, and then her beautiful face ... actually, the level and angle that she was holding the umbrella, the whole time as she passed within Suresh's view, only allowed him to see the bottom of her chin at most. Still, with a body as beautiful as hers, Suresh was quite certain that her face would be nothing less than positively stunning! — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Then there was Buddha meddling in, telling all of the Hindu, Hebrew, Christian and Islamic gods and demons that they were nothing more than unenlightened fear induced figments of nirvana-starved mortals. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Don't allow money to become the yardstick by which you measure the worth of the world around you! — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Nowhere in this universe does evil exist except in the mind of mankind. only man can take an idea or symbol which is so simple and innocent, and then twist it and corrupt it until it is something to hate or kill one another over. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Ray Pritchard

He is therefore the perfect teacher and the ultimate counselor. This gives us insight into his working. His plans are not our plans, his ways not our ways. He will accomplish things beyond human comprehension, and he will do it in ways we cannot fathom. He will do the greatest work ever accomplished, and he will do it successfully. — Ray Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Jack Pritchard

Religion is like a virus that affects the behaviour of its host in such a way as to propagate itself further. — Jack Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Flannery O'Connor

Mrs. Pritchard could not stand an anticlimax. She required the taste of blood from time to time to keep her equilibrium. — Flannery O'Connor

Pritchard Quotes By Nick Harkaway

Mr. Pritchard! What are you doing? Is that O-soto-gari? No! It is not! It is a yak mating with a tractor! That is really very very not very good! My grandfather is weeping in Heaven, or he would if there were such a place, which there is not because religion is a mystification contrived by monarchists! Again! Again, and this time do it properly! — Nick Harkaway

Pritchard Quotes By M.R. Carey

Pritchard tutted. "Justice? Justice is even more problematic than truth. It's an emergent property of a very complicated system. — M.R. Carey

Pritchard Quotes By John Pritchard

I shall know my home by its indelible mark upon my longing, for it is the longing that is the plate on which the image is etched in distant light, where there are no angels, only the angelic. — John Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Receiving very little or no feedback from my writing I really don't know if people like it or if they are actually reading any of my work for that matter. Still I will continue to write regardless. I suppose it is similar to people who talk just to hear their own voice. I write simply to see my own thoughts in print. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Still, all it really took was one alteration in my life, a change which appeared insignificant and unlikely at the time, nonetheless it has affected my outlook completely, turning it around the compass of my life. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Meanwhile Ami had been cheering me on, all she needed were some pom-poms, and cleavage, and then, the way she was dressed, she could have been one of the Dallas Cowgirls. Indeed, as I looked down to her, for a moment I clearly saw the beauty that I knew one day she would achieve, and to be honest I was suddenly a bit jealous of the bastard who would eventually gain that sweet lovely beauty for his own! — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Eleanor Catton

He might have been considered a very eligible bachelor, had he worked a little less, and ventured into society a little more. But Pritchard loathed large groups of mixed company, where every man is required to act as a kind of envoy for his sex, and presents his own advantages playfully, under the scrutiny of the room. Large crowds made him stifled and irritable. He preferred close company, and kept few friends - to whom he was fiercely loyal, — Eleanor Catton

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

-Wherever you go, there you are! You can't run away from yourself, or the underlying situation, no matter where you go. You won't find happiness anywhere, unless it's already there in your heart, and therefore you have carried it with you. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

I had been brooding earlier that morn over my most probable future, which had seemed so dim that I would probably need night vision goggles to see my way through it. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Luke Pritchard

I do think that really great music will divide people, and people will love and hate it at the same time. — Luke Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

You must find yourself before you can know where you belong, yet to find yourself first you must know who you are. However, you will never really know who you are if you are always allowing other people to define who you should be, so be yourself and if you are still unsure of who you are then reinvent yourself. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Forrest Pritchard

All farms require a resident dreamer, someone to thumb through seed catalogs in the cold days of late January, imagining summer fields of squash and cucumbers, tomatoes and sunflowers. Fall harvests are the reward of winter dreams. Someone must decide where the next fence should be placed, or conceive of a clever new way to organize the market stand. On a farm, there's no shortage of little dreams needing to be dreamed. — Forrest Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Luke Pritchard

I have my own goals in my head in terms of things that would be great to happen. — Luke Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By M. Ann Machen Pritchard

Reading is Intriguing...it can take you on a great Adventure! — M. Ann Machen Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Needless to say, Robbie and I confiscated all of the magazines, which we then quickly hid under our beds, and replaced the Playboys with nature magazines. So next time dad wants to drool over Marcy Hanson, or Debbie Davis, he's going to find Ranger Rick and Canadian Geographic instead. Best of all he can't complain to mom about it, as she would kill him for having the Playboys in the first place. However, he can't get mad at us either, or we'll simply tell mom about what we found. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

He was always being told that writers never become famous or rich, but of course that was not why he wrote, he wrote simply because he felt he had interesting stories to tell that people might like to hear. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Just then, Larry recalled a conversation he had with a friend in Ireland, about the situation in Nepal between the King and the Maoists. The friend was sided with the Maoists, which was more or less his political leanings in any case, and stated that at least they were trying to help the people. So Larry had remarked upon the rising death rate, and how the Maoists are just as brutal as the security forces, yet the friend simply shrugged and said you have to expect some collateral damage in a revolution.
Oh how he hates that phrase, as that makes it sound like the people's lives are meant to be expendable, something that a person's life should never be. Of course, it is very easy to disregard people you have never met, and who are certainly not your friends or family members. After all, in the eyes of an outsider, who is in no danger whatsoever, the people caught up in the situation are nothing more than simply statistics. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

-Well, that's actually quite understandable, Deepak gently returned, -there are a lot of things people fear, yet really the only thing people have any reason to fear is uncertainty. Of course, the biggest uncertainty is what happens to us after this life, which is why we fear death so much. But even death is rather pointless to worry about, it will happen to each and every one of us, whether we care for it or not, all we can do is try to accept it as gracefully as possible.
-This is why, living day to day, my greatest uncertainty hasn't been about death, but whether you will love me by returning all of my affection. I can't think of anything I would find more fearful or disturbing than if you were to refuse my feelings or worse if you were to fall in love with someone else before you had a chance to love me. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

I was about to make a snappy reply, when suddenly Lisa and Robbie came flying into the house and stormed into the kitchen, it being their regular habit in such awful weather to have hot chocolate or coffee soon as they arrived home. Yet upon observing Ami, and I, they abruptly stopped in passing and then looked us both over and how we were dressed. Lisa with a giggle remarked: -Oh, what is this, a slumber party?
-Ha! Robbie exclaimed. -if you had on one of dad's ratty old bath robes you would be a poor man's Hugh Heffner (snort), and so this must be one of your bunny girls! — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Melissa Pritchard

One of the reasons people like romances is that they're artificially shaped to give a pattern and meaning. It's not as messy as everyday life or as difficult or thorny. — Melissa Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By E.E. Evans-Pritchard

Anyone can produce a new fact; the thing is to produce a new idea. — E.E. Evans-Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Melissa Pritchard

A real love story is sometimes exhausting. A romance is deliberately constructed to yield a certain result; the ambiguities are trimmed out, so it's neater and more pleasing to our hearts. But you don't live a love story, you live a life. — Melissa Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

His ambition was not to become wealthy or to be well known, an image which society for some reason dictates each individual should prescribe to, instead his only ambition was to be at peace with himself, if he could achieve that than anything else he might need would follow. From now on he would question all things in life, but especially the rules and regulations of all authority institutions; he would take nothing on face value and only would accept what he personally knew to undeniably be true. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Boundaries are nothing more than imaginary lines drawn-up by delusional leaders and power hungry tyrants who wish to segregate the population into more easily controlled segments in any case.
-If you really think about it logically, the only place where the Buddha can be born is within the hearts and minds of the truly enlightened, otherwise you're simply wasting your time. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

So I began, feeling as if I was some elf in a Grim fairy tale climbing the corporate ladder of darkest whimsy, yet somewhere at the top lies the treasure of a pure maiden's heart. Therefore it was my duty to do whatever it might take to win that pure maiden's heart by returning that treasure to her hand. By the way, Spicoli, in the movie Fast Times at Ridge Mont High, said that people on ludes shouldn't drive, that being shortly after crashing a car while he was high on ludes. Therefore, I will say this in advance, people still half drunk and stoned probably shouldn't climb trees either. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

I enjoy load shedding in Nepal, when it allows me to witness the dancing of fireflies in the next field, and at the same time to hear children playing a chanting clapping game because there is no TV to waste their time on. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Antonya Nelson

Melissa Pritchard's prose, that darkly lyrical firmament, is brightened by the dizzy luminous arrangement of her stars and satellites, her great gifts to us: humor, irony, kindness, brilliance. — Antonya Nelson

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

It drives me mental, every time I think of the situation and just how much Ami really meant to me, after the fact. Ah, but it's fairly obvious that idiots, like me, are always going to be the very last ones to figure it all out! It kills me most that Ami was the only one who could ever see the real me, she was the one who always came along and saved me from myself. She had that charm without ever realizing it, I think. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Christine Kenneally

In a 2006 study, the geneticist Jonathan Pritchard and his colleagues at the University of Chicago announced that there were at least seven hundred regions of the human genome that had clearly undergone positive selection in the last five thousand to fifteen thousand years. Some of the genes affect taste, smell, digestion, and brain function. It is thought that some of these changes resulted from the pressures involved in moving from a hunting-gathering lifestyle to a more agriculture based one. — Christine Kenneally

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

-Let us celebrate the joy and sorrow, Sidip suddenly recited, -the wonder and mystery of all we see, so that we might live and learn as we were meant to. They say of stardust we are formed, that the ocean flows through our veins, and our thoughts are of quantum particles strung together by slender threads of charged ions. Therefore all things are connected, all things have spirit, you, me, the animals, plants, rocks, the oceans, planets, stars and the whole universe, these quantum particles are forming webs of awareness focusing at the centre where dwells the collective unconsciousness of all that has and ever will exist. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Aamir, recalling back to the idyllic days of his college youth, pictured himself once again sitting quietly on a familiar neighbourhood rooftop. He often enjoyed relaxing there, alone or with friends, while watching the colourful fluttering prayer flags on rooftop poles, especially in the warmth of an early evening breeze, as wispy clouds drifted against the jagged Himalayan backdrop. He has oft times wondered, ever since his childhood, if the prayers to the spirits of the dead, flying out from those slowly tattering rags, will ever really be answered. Perhaps it will be in another place, in another time, when we're living another life that we shall finally know. Aamir had calmly thought at the time. He was that sort of philosophical guy. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

However, it's usually random acts of good intent, like this one, which get you into the worst trouble in the long run. They say that if you want to change the world then you should be that change you want to see. Well that's what Gandhi said and see what they did to him. Ya, random acts of good intent are the ones that just might get you killed. The further you stick your neck out for others the more likely it's going to chopped, or at least get a large heavy albatross around it. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

I swear, either I've done something very wrong in a previous life, or I'm saving up all of my karma for a rainy day. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Connor Pritchard

Those pinked-skinned Jesus freaks that made the laws and owned the prisons were makin' more money off the drug game than we ever did. — Connor Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Melissa Pritchard

In death, as in sleep, I am all things. — Melissa Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Melissa Pritchard

He understood the mind's pride, filleting, pinning down life. Understood taking apart, reassembling and labeling. To Understand was to control, to keep the terror of human insignificance at bay. It was routine to self-importance, this ability to kill and to rebuild, to catalog and stop any motion too directly pointing out human limitation and death. — Melissa Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Melissa Pritchard

She had read enough about teenagers to understand you couldn't confront them directly. You couldn't even agree with them. The best strategy was to feign indifference to whatever wrong direction they were headed in, then plop in little facts, like Alka-Seltzers, round innocuous comments, let those sink in, take slow, antidotal effect . . . — Melissa Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Anoop had obviously worked quite hard to earn the money to buy that glitzy little bracelet. He certainly had enough calluses and deep scars on his hands and fingers to show for all his labour, as each was obtained while trying to support his family in the style they were accustom to. Nonetheless she frequently called him a lazy alcoholic, just because he was temporarily out of work, and then left the stupid bracelet out in public as if it were simply a cheap and silly trinket. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

The ox was bad enough, Mina thought as she checked out the damage to her vegetables, yet now I have goats to torment me. However, if the goru was like the king, then the goats must be like the political parties, so maybe in the end her life won't be so different after all? Yet she had to make sure that it would be different this time somehow, at least for Sidip's sake, if for no other reason. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Luke Pritchard

If you're religious or not, the world and society lacks as much of community spirit as it had. — Luke Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

But it's easy enough to ignore temptations when you are confident that there is someone waiting at home for your return. However, if that person is no longer a certainty, then it becomes harder and harder to escape even the least temptation which comes along. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

I couldn't believe it; my deepest darkest fantasy of a cute school girl slowly stripping in front of me was finally unbelievingly coming true! Furthermore, it wasn't just any school girl, but one from my school, that was the icing on the cake, or at least it should have been. Because, at the same time that my fantasy was becoming reality, I felt that I was being very badly cheated. Why couldn't it have been sixteen year old Heather Johnson or fifteen year old Pamela wade stripping before me, instead of the eight year old Ami Fujishiro? — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Eleanor Catton

Pritchard was lonely, and like most lonely souls, he saw happy couples everywhere. — Eleanor Catton

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Still, I was thinking that this was all wrong, despite feeling so nice, for once again one of my most sacred and deepest erotic fantasies was brutally being shattered, and once more it was all because of Ami. After all, it had been one of my fondest dreams, as a teenager, to lie in bed cuddling with a cute girl, or even with Yumi. Of course, in those many imaginations, we were both naked and we were having wild passionate sex as well as cuddling, but there before me at that very moment was the sad pathetic reality. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By David Pritchard

There will always be bosses, pastors and government officials over us - and this structure is actually a good thing. It is not our job to derail it or work around it. — David Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Melissa Pritchard

...I am discovering that it is truly a mistake--it may even be a moral wrong, in fact--to judge. Truth is too complex, too contradictory, too mercurial, to be one-sided, though it is human nature to prefer the reassurance and ease of firm judgement. Judgement helps us to justify our less savory actions. — Melissa Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Ambrose Evans-Pritchard

Spare me the mantra that the "fundamentals" are sound. Credit is the ultimate fundamental. — Ambrose Evans-Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Duncan Pritchard

We care about knowledge because knowledge is crucial to a worthwhile, valuable life. The questions of epistemology may be abstract, but their importance to our lives is vital. — Duncan Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

-Humph! Said Ami as she then quickly pulled ahead of me, having grown tired of my silent treatment. However, as she slipped by, I couldn't resist quickly reaching over and flipping-up the back of her skirt, just enough to see that she had a panda on the back of her panties, my fingers never touching her ass, yet I could feel the warmth underneath.
-Nice bear behind you got there! So I said
She froze in mid step, and looked as if she was going to turn around, but instead she shuttered as if a tingling electric shock had gone all through her body. I then noticed that the back of her neck to the roots of her hair had turned a lobster red! Though whether that was because of embarrassment or anger or both I'm not sure. In any case, Ami's hands became tight fists, and then with a growl like a tigress she quickly stomped off. I have actually heard a growl like that since that time. It's the sound of a female Nepali snow leopard, in heat, just before it pounces on a potential mate. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Richard H. Robbins

In his classic
account of the life of the Nuer of the Sudan, British anthropologist E. E. Evans-Pritchard
(1940:103) noted that
the Nuer have no expression equivalent to "time" in our language, and they cannot,
therefore, as we can, speak of time as though it were something actual, which passes,
can be wasted, can be saved, and so forth. I don't think they ever experience the
same feeling of fighting against time because their points of reference are mainly
the activities themselves, which are generally of a leisurely character. Events follow
a logical order, but they are not controlled by an abstract system, there being no
autonomous points of reference to which activities have to conform with precision.
Nuer are fortunate. — Richard H. Robbins

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Artists shouldn't wait until they are told what their art should be, they shouldn't follow trends or allow other people to influence their work, an artist should only create from the strongest emotions within their heart — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Samantha Young

I was washing the dishes and the sneaky bastard crept up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. And kissed me. Right here." I pointed angrily to my neck. "Can I not have him committed or something?"
Dr. Pritchard snorted. "For loving you?"
I drew back, shaking my head in disgust. "Dr. Pritchard," I admonished softly. "Whose side are you on?"
"Braden's. — Samantha Young

Pritchard Quotes By Eleanor Catton

Loneliness cannot be reassured by proportion. Even friendship would have seemed to Pritchard a feast behind a pane of glass; even the smallest charity would have wet his lip, and left him wanting. — Eleanor Catton

Pritchard Quotes By Ambrose Evans-Pritchard

The American elite ... is almost beyond redemption. Moral relativism has set in so deeply that the gilded classes have become incapable of discerning right from wrong. Everything can be explained away, especially by journalists. Life is one great moral mush
sophistry washed down with Chardonnay. — Ambrose Evans-Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Bradford Morrow

Melissa Pritchard is a treasure. — Bradford Morrow

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

By travelling to all the corners of the globe it allows me to further define the ever changing world we live in, which in turn helps me to redefine myself, therefore it is an important process towards becoming a complete person. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Nonetheless, with tears coming to her eyes she was also recalling every time that she had been cruelly teased and bullied for no reason that she could relate to. None of it had ever been physical, yet somehow the names she had been called, and the remarks made about her family, had scarred Lakshmi far deeper and more perpetually then any hand could have inflicted. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By John Flanagan

A wise man once told me, don't believe anything you hear until you've seen it with your own eyes," Halt said. Crowley looked up at him. "Who said that? Pritchard?" It sounded like the sort of thing their old mentor might say. Halt affected to think for a few seconds, then gave a slight smile. "No. I think it was me, actually. I can be very wise at times. — John Flanagan

Pritchard Quotes By Neal Stephenson

At this point, all of the responsible adults in Lawrence's life seemed to arrive at a tacit agreement that the best way to raise him - certainly the easiest - was to leave him alone. On the rare occasions when Lawrence requested adult intervention in his life, he was usually asking questions that no one could answer. At the age of sixteen, having found nothing in the local school system to challenge him, Lawrence Pritchard Waterhouse went off to college. He matriculated at Iowa State College, which among other things was the site of a Naval ROTC installation in which he was forcibly enrolled. The — Neal Stephenson

Pritchard Quotes By Melissa Pritchard

Romance novels satisfy a very specific fantasy of romantic love that seems to be a powerful part of the female psyche. — Melissa Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Melissa Pritchard

I believe all stories are love stories, and there are kinds and kinds of love, so I will always write about love, but not necessarily romance. — Melissa Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

I have always been considered a bit of an outsider, and a general failure at everything I put my hand towards. In fact, you might even go so far as to say that I'm a lesser being of great insignificance! I state this because, when writing a story, you should always start the first line off with at least one basic truth.
-First lines from the novel Sukiyaki — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Rick Moody

I have admired Melissa Pritchard's writing for several years now for its wisdom, its humble elegance, and its earthy comedy. — Rick Moody

Pritchard Quotes By Suzanne Young

It's a blank slate here, filled with possibility. — Suzanne Young

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

Monsoon Love is a love story with a few comic twists. The idea for this story came to me when I went into the local town of Pokhara with a friend to buy his son a birthday present. We had just arrived at the shops when a heavy down pour began, and as we had arrived on his motorbike and didn't have raincoats or umbrellas so we had to wait for the rain to stop. We were standing under a awning watching the street while we waited, and I noticed this very beautiful young woman walk past me dressed in a t-shirt and jeans with the cuffs rolled half up her legs, but the way she held her umbrella made it impossible to see her face, though with the nice body she had her face must have been just as lovely. Then I though, imagine some guy stuck working in an office, and seeing a view like that every day of the same woman, and falling in love with her despite not seeing her face. — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

So I pulled the ridiculously small, unwrapped, box from the sleeve of my yukata (as they don't have pockets) and rather overly self-consciously handed it to her. She took the pitiful little box, held it up to her ear and gave it a cautious little rattling shake. -You didn't just put a couple of dried old beans in here, as a joke, did you? She suddenly glared at me suspiciously.
I heard a stifled bark from Yumi at that, and a deep gasp from Uncle Suzuki and Aunt Anda, followed by a moment of silence. -Of course not, you silly old goose, I snapped back, -just open it and you'll see what's inside! — Andrew James Pritchard

Pritchard Quotes By Andrew James Pritchard

But, being that I have always been rather awkward and shy around girls, especially those I liked, whenever I tried talking to them, it's hardly any wonder that I never got very far.
