Unless you first do the hard work of answering those questions about a text, your meditations won't be grounded in what God is actually saying in the passage. A great number of books advise "divine reading" of the Bible today, and define the activity uncarefully as reading "not for information but to hear a personal word of God to you." This presents a false contrast.
