One of the frustrations for therapists of all persuasions is the knowledge that a person's circumstances will change only if it is within that person's power to decide to make some changes, and that when the cause of her unhappiness lies with someone else, it is almost impossible to help her feel better. Rather than admitting that the task is impossible, mainstream therapies simply change the focus of the blame.
