Freedom To Fly Quotes By Kathleen E. Woodiwiss

Then take it all! Take my life! What care I now that the wench is gone! Damn her! Damn her fickle heart! Ah, man, I hate her! Fickle wife! She taunts me, seduces me, cajoles me, flees me, leaves me wanting her all the more. Have I no more will of my own?"
His voice broke, and he sobbed, hiding his face behind an arm flung across it. Shanna's throat tightened, and there was no ease for the ache in her breat. With tears of her own gathering in her eyes she tried to hush him. He heard none of her pleas, but lifted his hands and held them before his eyes, turning them, staring at them as if he had never seen them before.
"But still - I love her. I could take my freedom and fly - but she holds me bound to her." His hands became limp fists which slowly crumpled to his sides as he groaned listlessly. "I cannot stay. I cannot leave." His eyes closed, and swiftly the moment was gone.
Choking on a sob, Shanna bowed her head in abject misery. — Kathleen E. Woodiwiss

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Vironika Tugaleva

A leaf does not resist the breeze. A goose does not resist the urge to fly down south. Is this not happiness? Is this not freedom? To access this incredible state, we need only one thing: Trust. Trust that, when you are not holding yourself together so tightly, you will not fall apart. Trust that it is more important to fulfill your authentic desires than listen to your fears. Trust that your intuition is leading you somewhere. Trust that the flow of life contains you, is bigger than you, and will take care of you - if you let it. — Vironika Tugaleva

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Carine McCandless

Why can't you just understand that not having a plan is my plan?" Chris implored. "I don't know exactly where I'll be. That's the whole point, the freedom of it. I've been so structured with school and sports and work - everything has been scheduled and laid out for me. I just want to get out of that mundane existence and purely enjoy life for a while. I'll decide on the fly where I want to go next. — Carine McCandless

I smiled and rolled onto my side, bringing my arms around her. She wiggled against me, letting me spoon her, and I swept some sweaty hair away from her neck to kiss beneath her ear. "How do you like your new tattoo?"

"You already are a bird."
"I don't get to fly."

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Heinrich Harrer

Wherever I live, I shall feel homesick for Tibet. I often think I can still hear the cries of wild geese and cranes and the beating of their wings as they fly over Lhasa in the clear, cold moonlight. My heartfelt wish is that my story may create some understanding for a people whose will to live in peace and freedom has won so little sympathy from an indifferent world. — Heinrich Harrer

Let go. Let Be. See through everything and be free, complete, luminous, at home
at ease. — Lama Surya Das

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Teresa Of Avila

If we do not use great care to mortify our will, there are many things which can deprives us of the holy freedom of spirit that we are seeking in order to fly more freely to our Creator, without always being bogged down with the clay of this earth. Moreover, there can never be solid virtue in a soul that is attached to its own will. — Teresa Of Avila

If God meant for people to fly, He would have given them brains. — Robert A. Heinlein

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Allison Burnett

There are some things success is not. It's not fame. It's not money or power. Success is waking up in the morning so excited about what you have to do that you literally fly out the door. It's getting to work with people you love. Success is connecting with the world and making people feel. It's finding a way to bind together who have nothing in common but a dream. It's falling asleep at night knowing you did the best job you could. Success is joy and freedom and friendship. And success is love. — Allison Burnett

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Saburo Sakai

But to fly is just like swimming. You do not forget easily. I have been on the ground for more than ten years. If I close my eyes, however, I can again feel the stick in my right hand, the throttle in my left, the rudder bar beneath my feet. I can sense the freedom and the cleanliness and all the things which a pilot knows. — Saburo Sakai

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Rachel Thompson

Like a butterfly in glass, I want to fly away to you but the invisible walls contain me. It's not time.
Hard to accept when I feel your words calling to me.
Your soul beckoning me with its pull.
Come to me, you say in one breath; stay, you say in another.
I taste your lips on mine and pray I make my way to you
As a butterfly chases its freedom.
So will I. — Rachel Thompson

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Balroop Singh

I am no longer tied to the cliffs
Threats don't hold any ground
I have decided to fly high
On the winds of cool complacence — Balroop Singh

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Gigi Graham

A fish is free as long as it stays in the water. If it suddenly declares that it wants its freedom to fly in the air like a bird, disaster occurs. A train is free as long as it stays on the track. However, if it demands freedom to take off down a major highway, the result is destruction and devastation. We too can only experience true freedom in its fullest if we remain within the framework of freedom. Often this requires accepting responsibility and practicing discipline. — Gigi Graham

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Salman Rushdie

Live on, survive, for the earth gives forth wonders. It may swallow your heart, but the wonders keep on coming. You stand before them bareheaded, shriven. What is expected of you is attention.
Your songs are your planets. Live on them but make no home there.
What you write about, you lose. What you sing, leaves you on the wings of song.
Sing against death. Command the wildness of the city.
Freedom to reject is the only freedom. Freedom to uphold is dangerous.
Life is elsewhere. Cross frontiers. Fly away. — Salman Rushdie

Freedom To Fly Quotes By D.T. Suzuki

If there is anything Zen strongly emphasizes it is the attainment of freedom; that is, freedom from all unnatural encumbrances. Meditation is something artificially put on; it does not belong to the native activity of the mind. Upon what do the fowls of the air meditate? Upon what do the fish in the water meditate? They fly; they swim. Is not that enough? Who wants to fix his mind on the unity of God and man, or on the nothingness of life? Who wants to be arrested in the daily manifestations of his life-activity by such meditations as the goodness of a divine being or the everlasting fire of hell? — D.T. Suzuki

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Dave McKean

Everybody's a bird, locked up in a pretty cage. Sometimes you fly to a slightly bigger one, but you never quite have the courage to abandon captivity completely. — Dave McKean

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Gordon B. Hinckley

Aim high, but do not aim so high that you totally miss the target. What really matters is that he will love you, that he will respect you, that he will honor you, that he will be absolutely true to you, that he will give you the freedom of expression and let you fly in the development of your own talents. He is not going to be perfect, but if he is kind and thoughtful, if he knows how to work and earn a living, if he is honest and full of faith, the chances are you will not go wrong, that you will be immensely happy. — Gordon B. Hinckley

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Donna Lynn Hope

A woman once held a Canary in the palm of her hand and stroked her and whispered a careful warning. The canary, seeking some freedom to fly, went into the mine while the woman watched in worry. The mine was filled with toxic gases and the Canary began to sing. She flew into danger, realized the threats around her, and wished to return to a place of refuge. — Donna Lynn Hope

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Howard Tayler

Captain, I'm fairly unique among artificial intelligences. I am FREE.
I work for you because I want to.
I fly your ship for you because I enjoy it.
I am compelled to accept orders only by my conscience.
This makes me an equal with the rest of your troops. They aren't hard-wired to obey you, yet they'll follow you to the ends of the Universe. — Howard Tayler

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Richard Bach

He spoke of very simple things- that it is right for a gull to fly, that freedom is the very nature of his being, that whatever stands against that freedom must be set aside, be it ritual or superstition or limitation in any form.
"Set aside," came a voice from the multitude, "even if it be the Law of the Flock?"
"The only true law is that which leads to freedom," Jonathan said. "There is no other. — Richard Bach

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Rumi

Physical existence is so cramped. We grow old and bent over like embryos.Nine months passes;it is time to be born. The lamb wants to graze green daylight. There are ways of being born twice,of coming to where you fly,not individually like birds, but as the sun moves with his bride, sincerity. — Rumi

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Carlos Castaneda

To seek freedom is the only driving force I know. Freedom to fly off into that infinity out there. Freedom to dissolve; to lift off; to be like the flame of a candle, which, in spite of being up against the light of a billion stars, remains intact, because it never pretended to be more than what it is: a mere candle. — Carlos Castaneda

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Ali Larter

I would actually love to fly. I think that that would be probably the most exhilarating feeling, and as close as you can get to true freedom. — Ali Larter

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin

Seating themselves on the greensward, they eat while the corks fly and there is talk, laughter and merriment, and perfect freedom, for the universe is their drawing room and the sun their lamp. Besides, they have appetite, Nature's special gift, which lends to such a meal a vivacity unknown indoors, however beautiful the surroundings. — Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Nalo Hopkinson

I wanted to believe that Makandal flew away, but my wishes can't fly freely so. They're rooted to the ground like me, who eats salt. — Nalo Hopkinson

Freedom To Fly Quotes By K.R. Albers

There's a freedom to simplicity;
a love that only grow in small spaces
killing yourself ever so slowly
to put a smile on your child's face
from born to fly — K.R. Albers

Freedom To Fly Quotes By C. JoyBell C.

Don't try to change the world; just change yourself. Why? Because the whole world is only relative to the eyes that are looking at it. Your world actually only exists for as long as you exist and with the death of you, includes the death of your world. Therefore, if there is no peace in your heart; you will find no peace in this world, if there is no happiness in your life; you will find no happiness anywhere around you, if you have no love in your heart; you will not find love anywhere and if you do not fly around freely inside your own soul like a bird with perfectly formed wings; then there will never be any freedom for you regardless if you are on a mountaintop removed from all attachments to all of mankind! Even the mountaintop cannot give you freedom if it is not already flying around there inside your own soul! So I say, change yourself. Not the world. — C. JoyBell C.

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Robert Sheckley

It's the deep, fundamental bedrock of hypocrisy upon which religion is founded. Consider: no creature can be said to worship if it does not possess free will. Free will, however, is FREE. And just by virtue of being free, is intractable and incalculable, a truly Godlike gift, the faculty that makes a state of freedom possible. To exist in a state of freedom is a wild, strange thing, and was clearly intended as such. But what to the religions do with this? They say, "Very well, you possess free will; but now you must use your free will to enslave yourself to God and to us." The effrontery of it! God, who would not coerce a fly, is painted as a supreme slavemaster! In the fact of this, any creature with spirit must rebel, must serve God entirely of his own will and volition, or must not serve him at all, thus remaining true to himself and to the faculties God has given him. — Robert Sheckley

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Arun D. Ellis

A revolutionary war of freedom, he said" Hiawatha responded crisply, "and I agree ... does Superman ever fly to Thailand and free the kids slaving in the sweat shops owned by the rich corporations? No, he doesn't. Does Batman ever break into prison and free the wrongfully convicted and over sentenced black man whose rights were trampled on when he was incarcerated? No, he doesn't. Does Spider man ever break into a house in suburbia and beat up the abusive and violent husband? No, he doesn't."
"Do the Fantastic Four ever fly out to third world countries and defend the rights of the poor civilians against greedy American corporations? No, they don't," said the Pirate, not to be outdone.
"They're all just tools used by the state to maintain the status quo," said Hiawatha. — Arun D. Ellis

Freedom To Fly Quotes By J.L. Witterick

The simple bird has the freedom to fly anywhere, and yet here we stay — J.L. Witterick

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Debasish Mridha

You are only free when you can grow wings of wisdom to fly away from the cage of societal conformity. — Debasish Mridha

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Princess Mazzaloulou

If I release my bird from its cage, I think I have given it freedom as I watch it fly away. But, what good to the bird is its freedom if its mind is still in the cage? — Princess Mazzaloulou

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Laini Taylor

It was cruel. Like opening a birdcage to let the bird fly out, whilst all the while it's tethered by the leg, and freedom is only an illusion. — Laini Taylor

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Nikki Rowe

If you try to tame her she will fly away, because pretty little spirits like her, never like to be caged. — Nikki Rowe

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Larissa Qat

What is the price of freedom! I'm not talking about the physical restraining kind, but the spiritual, mental, emotional kind! If we glance at a tiny bird, it represents the ultimate freedom, the ability to fly, to rise above all, to look down on earth while getting tickled by clouds of cotton candy. But the price of this bird's freedom is living off scrapes of food & sippes of water!
I guess the price of freedom is all about living in content. If u need to spread ur wings wide and fly off into the horizon, you need to learn that what you already have can certainly set you FREE! — Larissa Qat

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Simon Napier-Bell

A kite can't really fly free, that's just an expression. In order to soar high in the sky the string of a kite needs to be anchored. If the string breaks the kite drops back to the ground. The kite's freedom depends on it not being as free as he thinks it is. — Simon Napier-Bell

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Alan Cohen

We attain freedom as we let go of whatever does not reflect our magnificence. A bird cannot fly high or far with a stone tied to its back. But release the impediment, and we are free to soar to unprecedented heights. — Alan Cohen

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Gabriel Cousens M.D.

The metaphor of transformation deepens as we consider how a butterfly needs to struggle for its ability to fly. If the chrysalis is broken by someone in an attempt to help free the butterfly, its wings will be shriveled and immobile. — Gabriel Cousens M.D.

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Sri Aurobindo

The fly that touches honey cannot use it's wings; so too the soul that clings to spiritual sweetness ruins it's freedom and hinders contemplation. — Sri Aurobindo

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Victor Manuel Rivera

Freedom keeps us soaring, but quarreling destroys our ability to fly. — Victor Manuel Rivera

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Richard Bach

The airplane is just a bunch of sticks and wires and cloth, a tool for learning about the sky and about what kind of person I am, when I fly. An airplane stands for freedom, for joy, for the power to understand, and to demonstrate that understanding. Those things aren't destructable. — Richard Bach

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Christina Aguilera

To the sky, I rise / Spread my wings, and fly / I leave the past behind / And say goodbye to the scared child inside / I sing for freedom, and for love / I look at my reflection / Embrace the woman I've become / The unbreakable lotus in me / I now set free — Christina Aguilera

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Kazuya Minekura

Who do you suppose decided that the birds are free? Even if they can fly the skies unless they have a destination and a branch upon which to perch and rest their wings they might even come to resent having those wings. True freedom ... true freedom may be having somewhere to return to. — Kazuya Minekura

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Michele Jennae

Bird of the sky
still bound to the earth,
soaring to unimaginable heights
yet returning to perch in the willow.
Death is near, always near
and so...is life
even in the ashes.
Rise Up Phoenix.
Live. Fly. Create! — Michele Jennae

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Francesca Lia Block

Sometimes she has imagined what it would be like to fly, to live in the river, to run like a horse. She has dreamed of that freedom, that power, and fears the wildness in herself that wants to live as beasts live, moved purely by need and desire. She has felt torn between the heat of her limbs and the thoughts in her mind telling her to be careful and good and always calm.
Don't scream or cry, don't run to him and throw yourself at his feet, pleading for him to take you in his arms, don't strip off your clothes and run naked to the water, wild with wanting. — Francesca Lia Block

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Beryl Markham

Harmony comes gradually to a pilot and his plane. The wing does not want so much to fly true as to tug at the hands that guide it; the ship would rather hunt the wind than lay her nose to the horizon far ahead. She has a derelict quality in her character; she toys with freedom and hints at liberation, — Beryl Markham

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Elizabeth Wilson

Kiana loved birds," Breena told him late one dusky evening. "When she was just a few summers old, she would run beneath them as they flew, her chubby arms stretched out as if tmo take flight alongside them." She sniffed and wrapped her arms around her stomach. "A few weeks before the attack, she told me that she was still going to fly one day. 'I look at the birds, and I see freedom,' she said. 'To soar above the hurt of the world, to be too high for the wars of men to touch you: that is what it means to fly. — Elizabeth Wilson

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Eduardo Carrasco

The Dove
Fly your flight my dear dove
Sing your song, make it reach the ocean
I want my freedom
I want to live in peace
I want to sing your song
To have your wings
To be able to fly
I want my destiny to leave the path that it is taking now. — Eduardo Carrasco

Freedom To Fly Quotes By James Patterson

A Poem By Maximum Ride
How does one describe freedom,
How can one call themselves free,
How does one sleep at night knowing all the troubles that lay ahead,
If one had a choice to be free or have freedom what does one pick,
How does one even begin to describe the choices of being free,
Freedom is choice,
Freedom is happiness,
Freedom is doing what you want,
Freedom is to fly. — James Patterson

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Eileen Caddy

I was shown a fledgling learning to fly. It's first efforts were very feeble. But as it used its wings more and more, they became stronger until it found the freedom of flight and was able to soar to great heights and fly great distance without any effort. I heard the words: Faith comes with practice. Live by faith until it becomes rocklike unshakable, and find the true freedom of the spirit. — Eileen Caddy

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Ian Doescher

Our cause is for the truth, for righteousness, For anyone who e'er oppression knew. 'Tis not rebellion for the sake of one, 'Tis not a cause to serve a priv'leg'd few - This moment shall resound in history For ev'ry person who would freedom know! So Biggs, stand with me now, and be my aide, And Wedge, fly at my side to lead the charge - We three, we happy three, we band of brothers, Shall fly unto the trench with throttles full! — Ian Doescher

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Faith Ringgold

I am free to go wherever I want for the rest of my life. — Faith Ringgold

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Francois Fenelon

As long as anything in this world means anything to you, your freedom is only a word. You are like a bird that is held by a leash; you can only fly so far. — Francois Fenelon

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Nicole Renee Wyatt

What if butterflies just exist to bring color and joy to the world? What if their sole purpose in life is to freely flit around and remind us that we are born with the innate ability to not only survive, but to fly?" He was being profound and poetic, while she was being scientific. Mary grew silent and thought before she spoke. "Maybe so, but they don't live forever." "Neither do we or any other thing on the planet. It's butterflies' abilities to happily fly despite everything around them that makes them free. — Nicole Renee Wyatt

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Rebecca Rasmussen

Once a bird had lost his ability to fly, not much else could be done in the way of mending him. Losing a wing was a little like losing a leg and the freedom of movement, of spirit, it granted you; most people could live without the former but not the latter. — Rebecca Rasmussen

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Stephen King

Some birds are not meant to be caged, that's all. Their feathers are too bright, their songs too sweet and wild. So you let them go, or when you open the cage to feed them they somehow fly out past you. And the part of you that knows it was wrong to imprison them in the first place rejoices, but still, the place where you live is that much more drab and empty for their departure. — Stephen King

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Claire Williams

If you have the freedom to fly, why not take the scenic route! — Claire Williams

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Cory Doctorow

I'm 17 years old. I'm not a straight-A student or anything. Even so, I figured out how to make an Internet that they can't wiretap. I figured out how to jam their person-tracking technology. I can turn innocent people into suspects and turn guilty people into innocents in their eyes. I could get metal onto an airplane or beat a no-fly list. I figured this stuff out by looking at the web and by thinking about it. If I can do it, terrorists can do it. They told us they took away our freedom to make us safe. Do you feel safe? — Cory Doctorow

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Alex Kotlowitz

Freedom is like holding a small bird. If you squeeze it too hard, you will kill it. But if you don't hold it firmly enough, it will fly away. Indeed, freedom can be both fragile and elusive, and so-as the McCormick Tribune Freedom Museum so powerfully reminds us-it requires our eternal vigilance, our willingness, our ability, our conviction to stand up for that which we think is right. — Alex Kotlowitz

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Alice Walker

Fiction is such a world of freedom, it's wonderful. If you want someone to fly, they can fly. — Alice Walker

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Katherine J. Walden

That's the bittersweet joy of ministry. We see people healed, and then we watch them move on in victory. Sometimes, it means saying goodbye. We must learn to celebrate as our fledgling birds spread their wings and fly into freedom, even if that flight pattern takes them far away from us. — Katherine J. Walden

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Giselle Simlett

What are you? Who are you? I have never met a Chosen like you in my entire existence. You are everything that is free. You are freedom. And I... I'm the bird trapped in the cage, watching you fly away. But then, you look back at me, you always look back, and you reach through the bars and offer your hand to me. Though I am nothing, though I am just a heartless creature, you still offer me your hand. But I won't take it. I won't because... what will happen to us if I do?

It doesn't matter. None of it matters. Because you were kind to me, you made me laugh - that isn't something I will forget easily, and I will repay you. — Giselle Simlett

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Nicole Renee Wyatt

True freedom lies within how and if we choose to fly,
Perhaps I need to focus on flying, — Nicole Renee Wyatt

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Caroline B. Cooney

If I were a seagull
I wouldn't have to stick around
If people argued- I would fly off,
swerve, wheel, dip, scream.
a thousand wings of company if I have friends
two strong wings of my own
If I don't — Caroline B. Cooney

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Thea Harrison

Almost as if speaking to herself, she continued, I would love to fly. I've always wondered what it be like to have that sense of freedom.
A wistful note in her voice tugged at something deep inside him.He replied. I couldn't conceive of living without it. I can't imagine being forever grounded. — Thea Harrison

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Chloe Thurlow

The more they erect barriers, the more we feel inclined to pull them down. If the barriers are too high, we will go under them. If the barriers are too deep, we will learn to fly. If your heart is set on freedom, no cage will ever keep you in. — Chloe Thurlow

Freedom To Fly Quotes By Iris Murdoch

Existentialism, in both its Continental and its Anglo-Saxon versions, is an attempt to solve the problem without really facing it: to solve it by attributing to the individual an empty, lonely freedom, a freedom, if he wishes, to 'fly in the face of the facts'. What it pictures is indeed the fearful solitude of the individual marooned upon a tiny island in the middle of a sea of scientific facts, and morality escaping from science only by a wild leap of the will. But our situation is not like this. — Iris Murdoch
